Research Interests: My research deals with the paleoclimatology and paleoecology of
the Cenozoic. I am concerned with the relationship between
climate and evolution. Currently, my research focuses on the
spread of middle Miocene grasses across North America and the
causes of hypsodonty in grazing mammals. To explore these
relationships, I utilize stable isotope geochemistry as well as tooth
wear analyses, such as mesowear and microwear.
