At the University of Wyoming and the Southern Sierra Critical Zone

Observatory, I research the links between bedrock, vegetation, and

denudation. In particular, I am interested in how we can use

geochemical approaches to determine what aspects of the critical zone

and underlying bedrock may control primary productivity, weathering

processes, and landscape evolution in the Sierra Nevada. Understanding

the mechanisms behind such processes will help to predict how water

storage and the capacity for life in this mountain ecosystem may change

in the future.
