My project will be focused on the analysis of methane bubbles in thermokarst lakes using a non-invasive technique: GPR (ground penetrating radar). Our goal is to estimate the quantity and quality of methane bubbles trapped in Wyoming lakes; also this project aims to analyze the role of gas emissions from lake sediments in the global carbon cycle.
