I was born in a small Indian town, Pithoragarh. For most part of my life, I have lived in this Himalayan valley. Being born in such a place, I have always been a nature lover. I have been to several beautiful places in India, mostly hills. During my job of seven years, I lived near a coastal area and missed hills a lot, so coming and living in Wyoming has been a great experience for me, personally as well as professionally.

Building of Geology & Geophysics, University of Wyoming
I did my under-graduation in Physics, Chemistry and Maths from Kumaun University, Nainital, India. For my graduation, I chose Geophysics as my subject and did my masters from IIT, Roorkee, India.
Then, for next seven years, I worked in Oil & Gas Industry (Reliance Industries Limited, Mumbai, India) as a Geophysicist.
Reliance Crude Oil Refinery, India
I was working in a deep-water clastic reservoir and after working for few years I wanted more specialization and research in seismic amplitude inversion and rock physics domain of reservoir characterization. Therefore, I applied at the University of Wyoming due to its expert faculty, in the area of my research interest, and I believe that this would definitely make my research a rewarding experience.
