Summer 2014
Advisor: Dr. Edward Hansen, Hope College and Dr. Leif Johansson, Lund University
Megacrysts and partial melting in amphibolites from Halland Province, Southwestern Sweden
Attempted to reconstruct the reactions responsible for the formation of leucosomes by studying the associated megacrysts and mineral
assemblages of the host rocks
Mapped for three weeks and collected samples in Sweden
Analyzed samples with a polarizing microscope and SEM/EDS and whole rock analysis was completed with x-ray florescence
Presented findings as a formal presentation at GSA 2014, Vancouver
Field Course- Field Techniques, University of Canterbury, Westport, New Zealand
Fall 2013
Mapped and described several areas along the West Coast of New Zealand
Created stratigraphic logs and measured applied biostratigraphic sections
Collected and interpreted structural data using stereonets
