During February of 2014 I was part of a team that was trained to use our new Vista-Clara Ground Magnetic Resonance (GMR) system. This system charges a very large capacitor that steps up the voltage from 24 V (two car batteries in series) to 4000 V! When the loop is laid out and properly tuned it can produce up to 600 A of current! To put this in perspective ~1 A of current is enough to stop your heart. The coolest thing about this instrument is that it directly measures the amount of water underneath the main loop. Below are a few of the pictures from the training session. I am looking forward to using this instrumentation and method into my research.
